Hyacinth Macaw
Hyacinth Macaw
The hyacinth macaw is the largest parrot. It uses its large beak to crack open the shells of nuts. If a shell is particularly hard, it will use the beak to file down an area to break it in half easily.
This is a critically endangered species due to the destruction of its rainforest habitat and the collection of wild birds for sale as pets.
