Baton Rouge Zoo Honors Veterans

Baton Rouge, La –On Saturday, November 5th, BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo is proud to offer free Zoo Admission to veterans, active military and up to 5 guests. This is the Zoo’s way to thank veterans, active duty military and their families for their sacrifices. It is a day set aside for them to enjoy spending time with their families and enjoy the zoo. Valid military ID’s must be presented upon entry. Admission gates will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Zoo grounds close at 5 p.m.

As part of the day’s tribute to all things America, the Zoo will also host a special bobcat chat at 11am. This will be the first official introduction of the new bobcat exhibit that was built in-house by BREC’s Project & Engineering Department. The new exhibit is located on the boardwalk near the Otter Cabin. This is just one of several new exhibits that are coming soon in the North America section of the Zoo – others to include: a new aviary for Bald Eagles & Crested Caracara and new exhibit space for Elk, Bison and more.
