Zoomobile Outreach - Group Program

General Information:

The Zoomobile visits locations within one hour's traveling distance from BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo during the months of December-February and August-September; Monday-Friday.  The programs can start any time between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Our informative and entertaining programs are approximately one hour and include live animals and biofacts.  These programs are designed to educate the public while reinforcing our message of wildlife conservation.  Program topics vary due to resource availability and are subject to change.  You may contact the Zoo Education Department at 225.775.3877 for current programs.

These structured programs require the audience to be seated and attentive.  Although a formal stage is not required, public access to Zoo animals and the presentation area must be easily controllable.  Please have a standard size table available for our set-up.  For outdoor programs, we require a covered presentation area protected from the elements (heat, weather, etc).

If presenting to an audience more than 50 people, the Zoo requires a PA system furnished by your facility.  The maximum audience we are able to accommodate is 125 people.  Hands-on, interactive programs are only available for audiences of 35 people or less.

SCHEDULING AND AVAILABILITY:

Zoomobile programs must be scheduled a minimum of 3 weeks in advance and are on a first-come first-served basis. Please note, due to the popularity and numerous requests for Zoomobile programs, there is limited availability for this program.

PAYMENT:

A Zoomobile program is $125.00 ($25.00 surcharge for locations outside of EBR Parish). Each additional program on the same day is $75.00, up to three programs within a three hour period. Program fees are non-refundable and are due two weeks after date of scheduling.  Checks payable to BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo or Visa/MasterCard are accepted.  Personal checks with a valid Louisiana driver's license number and phone, and Group/Organization checks are accepted.
