BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo Hosts Baton Rouge City Appreciation Day

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo will be hosting a Baton Rouge City Appreciation Day this Saturday, February 1. The day's festivities will include buy one, get one admission for Baton Rouge visitors, special guests and a Baton Rouge-themed scavenger hunt throughout the day.

To date, special guests include C. Denise Marcelle, Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council member, District 7; Ronnie Edwards, Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council member, District 5; Chauna Banks-Daniel, Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council member, District 2; the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office; the Baton Rouge Police Department; Red Stick Moms Blog; 2014 LSU Softball team; and LSU's Mike the Tiger mascot. Special guests will be present for the opening of the Zoo at 9:30 a.m. to kick-off the day.

The Baton Rouge City Appreciation Day is the final city appreciation day to be held this year. Past appreciation days included the Zoo's Baker City Appreciation Day on Saturday, January 11; Zachary City Appreciation Day on Saturday, January 18; and Central City Appreciation Day on Saturday, January 25.

"We've been very pleased with our first year of hosting the city appreciation day series," said Phil Frost, Zoo Director. "We want to make sure our surrounding communities know how much we truly appreciate their continuing support in making the Zoo a premiere family attraction in East Baton Rouge Parish."

The offer to buy one regular price admission, get one of equal or lesser value free will be offered for all visitors presenting an official Louisiana driver's license with a recognized Baton Rouge zip code. Valid on February 1, 2014 only. Not valid in combination with any other offer.
