Zoo’s Sumatran Tigers Predict the Superbowl XLVIII Winner

January 31, 2014

Baton Rouge Zoo's Sumatran tigers, Denver and Seattle

On Saturday, February 1, the Baton Rouge Zoo's two Sumatran tigers will make their predictions for Sunday's Superbowl XLVIII. The two tigers, who are brothers, are coincidentally named Denver and Seattle.

During the prediction, zoo keepers will place two boxes within the Sumatran tiger exhibit, one labeled with "Superbowl Champion," and the other labeled "Better Luck Next Time." The tigers will then be released back into their exhibit, upon which time we will see which tiger, Denver or Seattle, chooses the "Superbowl Champion" box.

Fun Fact
The king vulture has a more powerful beak than other South American vultures and often makes the first tear into a large carcass.
