BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo announces record attendance in January
Warm weather brings visitors out to the Zoo
BATON ROUGE, La.-BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is happy to announce that attendance in January 2012 set a new record - 13,269 (up from 8,061 in 2011). The second highest year was 2006 when the Zoo saw 12,172 people in January.
"We've had some incredible, if unseasonably warm, weather this January," said Zoo Director Phil Frost. "It's great weather to visit the Zoo. The animals are active and the nice weather gives our visitors the opportunity to get outside and connect with animals."
Annual attendance for 2011 was 255,506.
