BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo "Marches" into Spring!
Visit the Zoo this month for festivals and family fun

BATON ROUGE, La.-BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is a great place for the family in March. Don't miss your favorite family festival - Zippity Zoo Fest March 31 and April 1 as well as our regular programs like Safari Night and Zoo & Me Mornings.

Zippity Zoo Fest

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo will hold its annual spring festival, Zippity Zoo Fest on Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Celebrate the Zoo's birthday with a children's village, education stations, a food court and animal encounters. New this year: be a part of our first photo contest. Entries will be exhibited both days of Zippity Zoo Fest. Regular Zoo admission applies. www.brzoo.org or 225.775.3877 for more information.

Spring Green at the Zoo

Join us March 17 as we celebrate being green. Learn what you can do to help wild animals and wild places at special amphitheatre programs. Games and crafts will also be available for children. www.brzoo.org or 225.775.3877 for more information.

Zoo & Me Mornings

Held the second Tuesday of every month, this program is designed for 3 to 5-year-old children accompanied by a parent or guardian. Programs are 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and will incorporate many exciting activities including a train ride, animal encounters, art projects, "Zooper" snacks and many other hands-on projects that you and your child can enjoy together. $18/child with one parent or guardian. $30/2 children with one parent or guardian. Safari Night

Have you ever wondered what the Zoo is like at night? Safari Night programs show you night-life at the Zoo and are available for group reservations on Fridays and Saturdays, year-round. Your Safari Guide will lead your group on walking tours of the Zoo. Designed for your group of 15-30 people, you'll learn all about the Zoo's animals through hands-on activities and animal encounters. All participants receive a Safari Night T-shirt. Enjoy a continental breakfast and the experience of serving breakfast to a Zoo animal!  Cost: $28/person; minimum of 15 people. Pre-registration required. Birthday Parties at the Zoo

Have your next birthday party at the Zoo! Your birthday package includes all day access to the Zoo, a private party room for one and a half hours, animal theme decorations, table wear, cake, ice cream, punch and a train ride. $125 for a party of 8. BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is a place where people connect with animals, including elephants, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. The world-class Realm of the Tiger is now open featuring highly endangered tigers, Siamang gibbons and beautiful Asian birds. Visitors can enjoy the Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, featuring the Zoo's Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as the Safari Playground, the Otter Pond, our exhibit featuring a replicated fishing cabin with underwater viewing of the otters, L'aquarium de Louisiane, Parrot Paradise and KidsZoo. Adults and children can ride the Cypress Bayou Railroad on a scenic ride through the unique Louisiana habitat that surrounds the core Zoo.
