Join us for the Zoo's new annual photo contest, sponsored by The Advocate! Simply visit the Zoo and take a photo, or choose a favorite photo taken at the Zoo in the past year. Upload your photo to The Advocate's website and get your family and friends to vote for your photo online!
This year's categories include:
- FUN FOTO - these should be pictures of your, your family and/or friends having fun at the Zoo. The photo must be identifiable as being taken at Baton Rouge Zoo.
- Children, ages 12 and younger (NOTE: Parent or guardian must register and submit photo for this category)
- Junior, ages 13 up to 18
- Novice ADULT, beginners and nonprofessionals
- Advanced ADULT, considerable experience to professional

About the Zoo:
BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is a place where people connect with animals, including elephants, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. The world-class Realm of the Tiger is now open featuring highly endangered tigers, Siamang gibbons and beautiful Asian birds. Visitors can enjoy the Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, featuring the Zoo's Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as the Safari Playground, the Otter Pond, our exhibit featuring a replicated fishing cabin with underwater viewing of the otters, L'aquarium de Louisiane, Parrot Paradise and KidsZoo. Adults and children can ride the Cypress Bayou Railroad on a scenic ride through the unique Louisiana habitat that surrounds the core Zoo. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
