BATON ROUGE, La.-BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is the perfect place to beat the dreary winter doldrums. Visit with your family and friends this month and connect with animals.

Zoo & Me Mornings
Held the second Tuesday of every month, this program is designed for 3 to 5-year-old children accompanied by a parent or guardian. Programs are 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and will incorporate many exciting activities including a train ride, animal encounters, art projects, "Zooper" snacks and many other hands-on projects that you and your child can enjoy together. $18/child with one parent or guardian. $30/2 children with one parent or guardian. Safari Night
Have you ever wondered what the Zoo is like at night? Safari Night programs show you night-life at the Zoo and are available for group reservations on Fridays and Saturdays, year-round. Your Safari Guide will lead your group on walking tours of the Zoo. Designed for your group of 15-30 people, you'll learn all about the Zoo's animals through hands-on activities and animal encounters. All participants receive a Safari Night T-shirt. Enjoy a continental breakfast and the experience of serving breakfast to a Zoo animal!  Cost: $30/person; minimum of 15 people. Pre-registration required. Birthday Parties at the Zoo
Have your next birthday party at the Zoo! Your birthday package includes all day access to the Zoo, a private party room for one and a half hours, animal-theme decorations, table wear, cake, ice cream, punch and a train ride. $10.25 per adult, $13 per child; $50 deposit required to hold date. BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is a place where people connect with animals, including elephants, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. The world-class Realm of the Tiger is now open featuring highly endangered tigers, Siamang gibbons and beautiful Asian birds. Visitors can enjoy the Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, featuring the Zoo's Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as the Safari Playground, the Otter Pond, our exhibit featuring a replicated fishing cabin with underwater viewing of the otters, L'aquarium de Louisiane, Parrot Paradise and KidsZoo. Adults and children can ride the Cypress Bayou Railroad on a scenic ride through the unique Louisiana habitat that surrounds the core Zoo. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
