BATON ROUGE, La.- Lions and tigers and bears...in LIGHTS! Join us for ZooLights, a holiday tradition in Baton Rouge. Beginning November 23, visitors will enjoy the lights and displays of all your favorite Zoo animals and holiday traditions. Walk through the Zoo and be amazed by larger-than-life light displays.

"ZooLights is a unique way to experience the Zoo," said Zoo Director Phil Frost. "Not many people are used to seeing a 30 ft. elephant in lights! The Zoo is a place where families can spend time with one another, and we hope that ZooLights will become a part of families' traditions."

The Zoo added more lights and more activities this year. Visit brzoo.org for a complete list of events and times. Activities include getting your photo made with our Safari Santa, ornament decorating (zoo animal ornaments of course!) and an exhibit of our Art Gone Wild. Visitors actually cast their ballots for the winners of Art Gone Wild.

The Safari Post Gift Shop will be open for your holiday gift shopping, and the Flamingo Café will be open for dinner with special, seasonal items added to the menu.

Fun Fact
When a cassowary or emu female mates, she lays the eggs, but the male incubates and raises them. The female may mate with 2 or 3 males a season.
