BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo presents pictures with our Safari Santa This week at ZooLights: visit our Safari Santa and take home a WILD souvenir!

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo invites you to join us for ZooLights, a holiday tradition in Baton Rouge. This weekend, visitors will enjoy the lights and displays of all your favorite Zoo animals and holiday traditions.

Visit December 2 and 3 to get your photo taken with our very special "Safari Santa." His beautiful suit is ready for the holidays, trimmed in zebra print fur. Children need to bring their lists for Santa and be ready for fun. Photos are $5 each and proceeds benefit the Zoo's conservation projects.

About ZooLights:

Imagine a 30 foot lights! ZooLights is your holiday imagination come to life. The walking path includes dinosaurs, monkeys swinging from trees, tigers, a peacock, Santa and his reindeer, giraffes, a hippo, meerkats and more. Walk through the Zoo and be amazed by larger than life light displays. Bring the whole family and get in the spirit of the season. Dinner and refreshments available for purchase at the Flamingo Café.

$5 for Adults/Teens

$4 for Seniors

$3 for Ages 2-12

Ages 1 and under are free

$3 per person for Friends of the Zoo members


Admissions open 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Zoo grounds close at 9 p.m.

About the Zoo:

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is a place where people connect with animals, including elephants, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. The world-class Realm of the Tiger is now open featuring highly endangered tigers, Siamang gibbons and beautiful Asian birds. Visitors can enjoy the new Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, featuring the Zoo's Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as the Safari Playground, the Otter Pond, our exhibit featuring a replicated fishing cabin with underwater viewing of the otters, L'aquarium de Louisiane, Parrot Paradise and KidsZoo.
