BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo invites you to join us for ZooLights, a holiday tradition in Baton Rouge. Beginning November 25, visitors will enjoy the lights and displays of all your favorite Zoo animals and holiday traditions.
Imagine a 30 foot elephant...in lights! ZooLights is your holiday imagination come to life. The walking path includes dinosaurs, monkeys swinging from trees, tigers, a peacock, Santa and his reindeer, giraffes, a hippo, meerkats and more. Walk through the Zoo and be amazed by larger than life light displays. Bring the whole family and get in the spirit of the season. Dinner and refreshments available at the Flamingo Café.
Every Friday and Saturday of ZooLights will feature a different attraction with games and crafts for children. The Coca Cola Santa truck will be at ZooLights opening night, and children can decorate their own ornaments November 25 and 26. Visit December 2 and 3 to get your photo taken with our very special "Zoo Santa." His beautiful suit is ready for the holidays, trimmed in zebra print fur. December 9 and 10 the Zoo will host carolers and submissions from our first art contest, Art Gone Wild, will be on exhibit. All visitors are welcome to vote for their favorite art piece in each category. December 16 and 17 will be Reindeer Games, an assortment of midway style games for children to enjoy like Christmas Tree Bingo, Reindeer Ring Toss and more.
ZooLights is November 25 - December 18 (Thursday-Sunday evenings), December 19 - 23 and December 26 - 30 (Nightly). Admissions are open 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Zoo grounds close at 9 p.m. Admission: $5 adults/teens, $4 seniors, $3 ages 2-12, ages 1 and under are free. Admission for Friends of the Baton Rouge Zoo members is $3 per person.

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is a place where people connect with animals, including elephants, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. The world-class Realm of the Tiger is now open featuring highly endangered tigers, Siamang gibbons and beautiful Asian birds. Visitors can enjoy the new Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, featuring the Zoo's Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as the Safari Playground, the Otter Pond, our exhibit featuring a replicated fishing cabin with underwater viewing of the otters, L'aquarium de Louisiane, Parrot Paradise and KidsZoo. Adults and children can ride the Cypress Bayou Railroad on a scenic ride through the unique Louisiana habitat that surrounds the core Zoo. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you and a better future for all living things.
