BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo invites you to "fall" in love with your Zoo this month. Spend the night at the Zoo, have a birthday party, experience Zoo Camp and wonder at the Zoo in lights.



Join us for ZooLights, a holiday tradition in Baton Rouge. Beginning November 25, visitors will enjoy the lights and displays of all your favorite Zoo animals and holiday traditions. Walk through the Zoo and be amazed by larger than life light displays. Bring the whole family and get in the spirit of the season. Dinner and refreshments available at the Flamingo Café.

November 25 - December 18 (Thursdays-Sundays)

December 19 - December 23; December 26 - 30 (Nightly)

5 p.m. to 8 p.m.


$5 for Adults/Teens

$4 for Seniors

$3 for Ages 2-12

Ages 1 and under are free

$3 per person for Friends of the Zoo members

Fall Zoo Camp

What could be more fun during fall break than hanging out with the animals? Fall is a great time to visit the Zoo and learn what being a naturalist is all about. These young explorers will use their imaginations and learn skills to find animal homes, track animals and discover how plants and animals survive in the natural world. These age-appropriate, engaging, down-in-the-dirt activities provide a wonderful foundation for future learning and experience in the great outdoors. Register at 225.775.3877 Option 2.

Fee is $35/day per child ($42 out-of-parish)

For your convenience: Early drop off 7:30am and late pick up until 5:30pm

Zoo & Me Mornings

Held the second Tuesday of every month, this program is designed for 3 to 5-year-old children accompanied by a parent or guardian. Programs are 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and will incorporate many exciting activities including a train ride, animal encounters, art projects, "Zooper" snacks and many other hands-on projects that you and your child can enjoy together. $18/child with one parent or guardian. $30/2 children with one parent or guardian. Safari Night

Have you ever wondered what the Zoo is like at night? Safari Night programs show you night-life at the Zoo and are available for group reservations on Fridays and Saturdays, year-round. Your Safari Guide will lead your group on walking tours of the Zoo. Designed for your group of 15-30 people, you'll learn all about the Zoo's animals through hands-on activities and animal encounters. All participants receive a Safari Night T-shirt. Enjoy a continental breakfast and the experience of serving breakfast to a Zoo animal!  Cost: $28/person; minimum of 15 people. Pre-registration required. Birthday Parties at the Zoo

Have your next birthday party at the Zoo! Your birthday package includes all day access to the Zoo, a private party room for one and a half hours, animal theme decorations, table wear, cake, ice cream, punch and a train ride. $125 for a party of 8. BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is a place where people connect with animals, including elephants, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. The world-class Realm of the Tiger is now open featuring highly endangered tigers, Siamang gibbons and beautiful Asian birds. Visitors can enjoy the new Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, featuring the Zoo's Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as the Safari Playground, the Otter Pond, our exhibit featuring a replicated fishing cabin with underwater viewing of the otters, L'aquarium de Louisiane, Parrot Paradise and KidsZoo. Adults and children can ride the Cypress Bayou Railroad on a scenic ride through the unique Louisiana habitat that surrounds the core Zoo. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you and a better future for all living things.
