BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is heating up this July with events for the whole family.

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo invites you to visit this summer for Twilight Tours every Tuesday and Thursday evening this July. Take a twilight tram ride through the Zoo in the cool of the evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a guided ride through the Zoo, private animal show at the Wildlife Safari Theatre and an evening snack. The cost is $16 for adults and teens, $13 for children 2-12. There is limited space available, and pre-registration is required. Call 775-3877 option 2 to register.
What could be more fun during summer break than hanging out with the animals? Zoo Camp is your passport to adventure. Ages and themes vary by week. Each week is different so children can enjoy multiple weeks at the Zoo! $100/child per week ($120 out-of-parish). 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (early drop off at 7:30 a.m. and late pick up at 5:30 p.m. at no additional fee). Have you ever wondered what the Zoo is like at night? Safari Night programs show you night-life at the Zoo and are available for group reservations on Fridays and Saturdays, year-round. Your Safari Guide will lead your group on walking tours of the Zoo. Designed for your group of 15-30 people, you'll learn all about the Zoo's animals through hands-on activities and animal encounters. All participants receive a Safari Night T-shirt. Enjoy a continental breakfast and the experience of serving breakfast to a Zoo animal! Cost: $28/person; minimum of 15 people. Pre-registration required. BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is a place where people connect with animals, including elephants, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. The world-class Realm of the Tiger is now open featuring highly endangered tigers, Siamang gibbons and beautiful Asian birds. Visitors can enjoy the new Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, featuring the Zoo's Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as the Safari Playground, the Otter Pond, our exhibit featuring a replicated fishing cabin with underwater viewing of the otters, L'aquarium de Louisiane, Parrot Paradise and KidsZoo. Adults and children can ride the Cypress Bayou Railroad on a scenic ride through the unique Louisiana habitat that surrounds the core Zoo. The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you and a better future for all living things.
