Summer means family fun at BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo Frozen Safari and Twilight Tours, just two ways your Zoo is “staying cool”

June 27, 2012

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is full of events, camps and "cool" family fun this June.

Father's Day at the Zoo
On June 17, it's all about dad, so bring your father to the Zoo and spend the day with the WILD bunch. This day features dad & me themed amphitheatre programs, games and crafts. www.brzoo.org or 225.775.3877 for more information.

Frozen Safari
Visit the Zoo on June 23 as we keep it cool this summer. This special day will focus on animal enrichment and teach visitors what the Zoo does to promote animal wellness on a daily basis. Frozen treats will be available for visitors as well as animals! The first 100 people to the Zoo will receive a coupon for a free frozen treat at the Zoo's Cool Critter Café. Regular Zoo admission applies. www.brzoo.org or 225.775.3877 for more information.

Twilight Tours
BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo invites you to visit this summer for Twilight Tours every Tuesday and Thursday evening this June and July. Take a twilight tram ride through the Zoo in the cool of the evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a guided ride through the Zoo, an animal encounter at the Wildlife Safari Theatre and an evening snack. The cost is $16 for adults and teens, $13 for children 2-12. There is limited space available, and pre-registration is required. www.brzoo.org to register.

Your Safari Guide will lead your group on walking tours of the Zoo. Designed for your group of 15-30 people, you'll learn all about the Zoo's animals through hands-on activities and animal encounters. All participants receive a Safari Night T-shirt. Enjoy a continental breakfast and the experience of serving breakfast to a Zoo animal!  Cost: $28/person; minimum of 15 people. Pre-registration required.
