Indian Flying Fox
These fruit-eating bats are among the world's largest with wingspans up to 4 feet wide. They are often called "flying foxes" because of their pointed faces and fox-like ears.
Fruit eating bats are critical in reforestation of cleared land. As the bats fly they drop undigested seeds in open areas. Up to 98% of new plant growth is due to bats.
