Galah Cockatoo
The galah is the most common cockatoo in Australia. In Australia, "galah" is slang for a silly person. The clearing of land for agriculture has benefited this species and they have become pests in some areas.
This is one of the few parrot species that has seen an increase in population. These birds will often feed on grains and other crops that are grown in areas where the cockatoos would not have previously been found.
