Earth Day & Party for the Planet

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo

Saturday, April 22, 2017 - Saturday, April 22, 2017

This year, we are excited to announce that the 27th Annual Louisiana Earth Day celebration will be hosted at BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo on Saturday, April 22, 2017! Louisiana Earth Day has joined forces with the Zoo’s “Party for the Planet,” event for a day filled with hands-on environmental activities and exhibits, conservation education, special zoo keeper chats, animal enrichments, entertainment, and fun for the entire family.

What better way to celebrate our Earth than honoring the magnificent creatures that inhabit our planet? More than 120 zoos and aquariums across North America are celebrating Earth Day with the 10th annual Party for the Planet. This is the largest combined Earth Day celebration in North America!

The Baton Rouge Zoo's festivities include earth-friendly activities including Safari amphitheatre programs, animal chats and educational family fun. Display boards will teach visitors what plants use in yards to help our planet and local wildlife, what animals are endangered and why, what is recycled at your Zoo and what global organizations your Zoo supports to help animals in their native habitats. Exhibits to include Earth for Children, Wetlands Tent, Earth Walk and More!  Additional details are coming soon!

Regular Zoo admission applies.

9:30am - 5pm (Grounds Close at 6pm)
