Have a Brew, Help your Zoo

August 09 2017

Friends of the Baton Rouge Zoo is set to host the 4th Annual BREW at the Zoo on October 6, 2017 from 6 pm – 9 pm. Tickets are now on sale at www.brzoobrew.org for this flagship craft-beer tasting event, supporting Friends of the Zoo, the nonprofit support group of BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo.

The event will feature live music and over 200 craft beers from local, regional and national breweries in addition to unique beers created by members of Baton Rouge-area homebrew associations. Food from around the area will also be present to complement the beer on top. Some eateries include: L’auberge Stadium Club, Raising Canes, Mason’s Grill, Ninja Snowballs and much more.

“For the past three years, this event has been a sell out,” said Phil Frost, Zoo Director. “BREW has become a flagship event not only at the Zoo, but in Baton Rouge as a whole. We certainly encourage everyone interested in coming to snag their tickets early, as they go fast. The Zoo also encourages all attendees to have a designated driver in their group,” continues Frost.

The event is open to adults 21 and older only. General admission tickets are $45 and grant access to the beer and food on site. For those interested in attending but not drinking, a special $20 “Designated Driver” ticket is available, allowing access to all food and non-alcoholic beverages. The Zoo is also partnering with a ride service who will provide a discount code to event attendees. The co-chairs for this year’s event are Heather Kleinpeter and Franz Borghardt.
