BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo to Host Private Dreamnight Event
May 29 2018
BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo will host its 12th Annual Private “Dreamnight” event at the Zoo this Friday, June 1st from 6pm-8pm. More than 100 zoos world-wide host Dreamnight, which is a private, invitation-only event for children impacted by pediatric cancer and their families. The Baton Rouge Zoo is the first zoo in Louisiana to host this special event. The Zoo, along with its partners, is honored to host an event that enables these children & their families to experience an evening of pure fun at no cost, presenting a chance to escape their current struggles.
This year’s event is presented by BASF and supported by Cancer Services of Baton Rouge, Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, ISC, Red River Bank, Campus Federal Credit Union, The Bella Bowman Foundation, and West Baton Rouge Museum. Children and their families will be a part of the Zoo after-hours and experience special animal chats, pot-a-plant, face painting, princesses and superheroes, Star Wars & Ghostbusters characters, dinner, ice cream and much more!
“What could be more exciting than a private evening of learning and fun with the animals?” said Phil Frost, Zoo Director. “Dreamnight is always a privilege to host. The attendees touch our hearts year after year and we are so thankful to have the opportunity to host such a worthwhile and special event.”
NOTE: Media are invited to capture images or footage during the event (photo releases will be signed for those consenting). This is NOT an event for the general public, it is by invitation only.
