BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo to Host “Party for the Planet”

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo will host “Party for the Planet.”  This is a day filled with conservation, education, special keeper chats, animal enrichments, and fun for the family in honor of Earth Day weekend. “Every day is Earth Day at the Zoo,” said Phil Frost, BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo Director. “

Over 120 Zoos and Aquariums across North America are celebrating Earth Day with the 11th Annual “Party for the Planet” event. This is the largest combined Earth Day celebration in North America.

The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. (admission gate closes 5p.m.). Regular Zoo admission rates apply - Adults $8.75, Seniors $7.75, Children (2-12) $5.75, Children (Under 2) no charge.

·       10:30am – Giraffe Chat

·       11am – Otter Chat

·       11:30am – Bobcat Enrichment

·       1pm – Siamang Enrichment

·       1:30pm - Rabbit Encounter

·       2pm - Cheetah Training

·       2:30pm - Black Rhino Training

·       3pm - Otter Chat

·       3:30pm - Spider Monkey Chat

·       5pm - Running of the Ducks at KidsZoo
