20th Annual Boo at the Zoo Brings Record Attendance
November 01 2016
BATON ROUGE, LA.— BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo hosted the 20th annual in-house Boo at the Zoo on October 22, 23, 29, and 30.
This merry, not scary trick-or-treat extravaganza began in 1996 with just under 3,900 visitors and this year welcomed over 27,000 visitors! 2016 brought record numbers of guests with a 12% increase in attendance compared to the 4-year average. As well, the Zoo received a record number of 5-star reviews from attendees on social media channels throughout both weekends.
“We were thrilled to see familiar and new faces alike at our flagship event this year,” said Phil Frost, Director of BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo. “We can all agree that 2016 was a tough year for our region, and we were thankful that so many families chose to continue this fall tradition even amidst the challenges our families, friends, and community members are still facing. The volume of attendees is proof of that resilience and that quality family fun is always a favorite.”
