Curator of Primates & Carnivores

The Curator of Primates & Carnivores supervises staff in the care and management of primates, carnivores, and their exhibits and oversees and monitors the Zoo's Enrichment Program.  Applicants must have the ability to train and supervise animal keepers; and, must have knowledge of primate and carnivore husbandry including proper diet, housing, and safety procedures.  This position collaborates with the Veterinary Department to provide quality care for the animal collection and ensures compliance with established policies.  This is a full-time position, generally, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week with some evening and weekend work required.  Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Biology, Life Science or related science.  The Curator develops and implements husbandry procedures for the animals in this area. 

Experience Required

3-5 years experience in the care of Primates and Carnivores, two of which are supervisory.
